Working Areas of YASEN
Climate Education and Community Engagement
YASEN is committed to nurturing climate-conscious communities through education and active participation. We lead Climate literacy campaigns, conduct school programs, and organize awareness events to equip young people and community members with knowledge on climate change, sustainability, and environmental protection. Our outreach emphasizes key themes such as Loss and Damage, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), pesticide awareness, and encouraging grassroots leadership and collective action. Through interactive sessions, art-based engagement, and local campaigns, we build a culture of environmental responsibility across diverse communities.
One Health Approach
YASEN embraces the One Health approach as a foundation for advancing climate justice. We recognize that human, animal, and environmental health are deeply interconnected and that climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities. By linking health systems with environmental and climate resilience efforts, we aim to reduce health risks, protect ecosystems, and advocate for the rights of those most impacted, especially youth, women, indigenous, and marginalized groups. Our work promotes inclusive solutions that are equitable, community-driven, and grounded in both science and justice.
Climate and Gender Justice, Women’s Empowerment, and Youth Leadership
YASEN champions intersectional climate justice by amplifying the voices of women, girls, and marginalized youth. Through leadership development, entrepreneurship programs, and empowerment training, we support equitable participation in climate solutions. We ensure that gender equality, inclusive governance, and justice are at the forefront of our climate actions and community-building efforts.
Waste Management and Sustainable Agricultural Practices
YASEN integrates sustainable agriculture with responsible waste management to build climate-resilient and eco-friendly communities. We promote organic farming, composting, upcycling, and the use of local resources, while encouraging waste reduction, reuse, and recycling at the household, school, and community levels. These initiatives help improve food security, restore ecosystems, and reduce pollution. By linking agriculture and waste management, we support circular economy solutions and climate-smart rural livelihoods.
Capacity Building and Advocacy
YASEN strengthens the capacities of young people, educators, and community members through structured training programs, workshops, and advocacy platforms. We build leadership, communication, and policy engagement skills that empower youth to participate meaningfully in national and international environmental issues and influence policy for a greener and more equitable future.
